Eye Care and Exams
Eye Exams
Annual eye examinations are recommended for most children and adults to monitor the changes that may occur in the eye and surrounding structures, and to monitor the overall health of the eye.
Damage from most eye diseases is preventable if discovered and treated early. In adults these include diabetes, high blood pressure, glaucoma, cataracts and damage caused by medication. In children, changes in vision occur quickly, and learning in school can be compromised if children have blurred vision. Those of us who work on computers have additional demands on our vision. Those demands can result in fatigue, eye strain, or headaches. Small adjustments in your prescription can alleviate this stress in many cases.
Treatment of Eye Diseases
The doctors at Simon Eye Associates are highly trained in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. The most common eye disease seen is a form of eye infection commonly called “pink eye.” Pink eye is actually a viral infection of the eye and only one of several reasons for a red eye. Others include allergy, bacterial infection, fungal infection, chemical reaction or foreign bodies. All the doctors are trained in the treatment of these and other eye diseases.
